On Saturday, July 27, the cowboys will round up in our Quartermaster Galleries for National Cowboy Day starting at 9 am. It will begin with a light breakfast, followed by a talk at 9:30 am
from San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts curator, Laura Huckaby, on the beautiful art on display.
Then at 10:00 am the Concho Cowboy Company will perform one of their award-winning programs outside the Quartermaster. A perfect end to National Cowboy Day!
All events are free and open to all! The art show will remain open that day until 4:00 pm.
National Cowboy Day is celebrated across the nation, honoring this unique American figure. In the late 1800s, cowboys were black, white, and Hispanic, male and female, playing a major role in the development of the American West after the Civil War.
