West Texas Lighthouse for the Blind has positions available for Production Workers who are Blind or Legally Blind. Production Workers are responsible for a variety of hand assembly tasks as directed by the Manufacturing Manager or Working Foreman.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Clip caps for writing instruments.
• Assemble writing instruments.
• Package and label writing instruments in DZ, 100/ct, or any other UOM as specified by work order.
• Count finished items using a weight scale upon completion of work order.
• Package finished items that have been weighed using box machines.
• Label packaged boxes. May be required to operate label software to print labels.
• Operate the vinyl tubing cutter.
• Fold the material for canvas bags.
• Sew canvas bags.
• Silk screen canvas bags.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate shrink wrap machine.
• Operate blister packing machines.
• Operate marker machines.
• Operate pad printers.
• Operate auto bag machines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to function in a team environment.
